The biggest problem for Mac users is receiving or editing Hangul documents while working. This is because Hangul documents, widely used by Koreans, are only available on Macs if purchased.
So I purchased Hangul 2014 for Mac VP, but one day, an error message suddenly appeared and the program kept crashing. What's going on, and what's the solution?
1. Hangul 2014 for Mac VP
This is a Mac program that allows you to use Hangul programs. There was no latest version of Hangul programs for Mac, and there was no version that could be kept permanently. ‘Hangul 2014 for Mac VP‘' was what it said.
I also needed to use a Hangul document in a hurry, so I purchased a paper copy online. Entering the product number in this document allowed me to use Hangul permanently on my Mac.
The price was reasonable, and I figured I wouldn't have to worry about it later, so I didn't hesitate to buy it. And I used it for a while without any issues.
2. Hangul 2014 for Mac VP 'Error Occurred'‘
But then one day, a problem arose. Hangul documents that had previously opened without issue stopped opening, and the app stopped responding no matter how many times I pressed it.
And this program would not close and would not respond, so when I tried to turn off the computer, the program would not close and the computer would not turn off.
It was very uncomfortable and I felt bad.
There are many people in the world who are illegally using programs through dark channels, whether it's Mac or IBM computers. I had this arrogant thought, 'What have Hangul and computers been doing while people who paid for official products are suffering like this?'.
I waited, hoping the error would disappear and things would be back to normal soon, and before I knew it, a little over a month had passed. It was so inconvenient that I couldn't stand it anymore, so I decided to leave a message on the website's customer service center.
3. Response from the Korean and Computer Customer Center
The reason I wrote this was simple: I knew there was a problem. If it wasn't working right now, many people would be experiencing difficulties and inconveniences, but there was no notice or communication about it whatsoever.
I was so frustrated that I left a message at the customer service center and received a response about a day later.
The answer is as follows.
While product support for the 2014 VP product has ended, we've received feedback from many customers regarding product incompatibilities, such as the inability to run the product due to the lack of support for the Sonoma(?) operating system. Accordingly, we've internally proposed and are currently reviewing additional updates to enable the product to run on the Sonoma(?) operating system. This is currently under review, and any finalized information will be posted on the website. We appreciate your understanding.
