The War Memorial in Ho Chi Minh City A place that vividly shows the scars of the Vietnam WarThis makes it a great place to visit with family.

However, I remember watching it while sweating profusely because there was no air conditioning inside.

In addition to the admission fee, you can rent a translator to comfortably view the museum in Korean. However, due to the many gruesome war-related images, it may not be suitable for children.

I am confident that this will be a great opportunity to understand Vietnam.

  • Viewing time: approximately 2 hours

  • You can purchase various souvenirs on the first floor.
  • On the first floor outside, fighter planes and tanks used in the Vietnam War are on display.

Central Post Office, a place that preserves Vietnamese history and culture

The Central Post Office, located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, A special space that fully embodies Vietnam's history and culture.no see.

I think the really high ceilings and the portrait of Ho Chi Minh hanging in the center of the post office show how much this city cherishes Ho Chi Minh.

There is an actual post office nearby, and the center and entrance are decorated with places selling various Vietnam-related souvenirs.

  • There are a variety of souvenir shops, making it a great place to buy special souvenirs.
  • I was amazed that the historical space was preserved intact.

Ben Thanh Market, the symbol of Ho Chi Minh City

Ben Thanh Market is a symbol of Ho Chi Minh City. It is a place that holds history and is the home of countless Ho Chi Minh merchants, so it is a must-visit in Ho Chi Minh City even if you don't go shopping.

This is a place where you can bargain for souvenirs, local specialties, and crafts. The place is much larger than it appears in photos, so you'll need to walk quite a bit to explore every nook and cranny.

Shopping through the narrow, maze-like passageways is a uniquely enjoyable experience.

  • A lot of foreign tourists visit here.
  • There are quite a few business owners who refuse to take photos or videos because they sell a lot of counterfeit products.
  • It can get very hot inside because there is no air conditioning.
  • Please be careful as there are known to be many pickpockets in the area.
  • You must prepare cash.

Saigon Square, a counterfeit market and a tourist shopping paradise

Most travelers to Ho Chi Minh City will visit Saigon Square at least once. Known for its counterfeit goods market, this area attracts a different demographic than Ben Thanh Market.

There are many relatively sophisticated and expensive products on display, and you can buy counterfeit luxury brands at low prices.

  • There is a currency exchange office on the far right of the first floor.
  • The air conditioning inside makes shopping cooler than at Ben Thanh Market.

A must-see photo spot: Pink Cathedral (Tanding Cathedral)

The Tan Dinh Cathedral, also known as the Pink Cathedral, is a famous building with a beautiful pink exterior that looks like it came straight out of a fairy tale.

Built in 1957, it is known to be a popular destination for many tourists visiting Vietnam.

The Pink Cathedral is not open on weekends or Sundays, so you need to plan your visit accordingly. However, if you happen to be there at a time when it is not open, don't give up. You can still get some pretty photos on the 3rd floor of the Kong Cafe across the street!

Why Traveling to Ho Chi Minh City is Great

There are a lot of Koreans

Within Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is particularly renowned for its large Korean population. Among them, Phu My Hung in District 7 is particularly known as Koi La Town, a densely populated area with Korean residents.

So, many companies that are familiar to Koreans are also entering the market.

It's a really convenient place for Koreans to travel, with everything from Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours to pharmacies where you can buy Korean medicine and even Korean-brand restaurants.

In particular, if you go to a certain cafe, it is almost always filled with Korean people, so there are times when it feels like you are in Korea.

Rice noodle restaurant

Pho is a favorite among Koreans, with many famous pho restaurants in Korea. If you enjoy Vietnam's signature cuisine, there's a very good chance your trip will be truly relaxing.

In fact, my son loves pho so much that he enjoys trying new pho every day, which I think made his trip to Ho Chi Minh even more enjoyable.

In Vietnam, the style of pho varies slightly from region to region. The pho in Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam, is characterized by a rich, deep broth and chewy, thick noodles.

I think that Ho Chi Minh's style of rice noodle goes well with Koreans.

Friendly Ho Chi Minh

Vietnamese people are generally very friendly. They are especially friendly toward Koreans, and quite a few of them can speak Korean.

If you visit Ben Thanh Market or Saigon Square, Ho Chi Minh City's shopping centers, you'll find yourself able to communicate comfortably without having to use any special English. While many Vietnamese people don't speak a word of English, there are also quite a few who can, making communication easier than you might expect.

Even now, I feel happy when I remember the temperature, the wind, and the feeling of Ho Chi Minh City during our 6-night, 7-day family trip.

Ho Chi Minh City's Bun Thit Nuong Restaurant: Locals Recommend Bibim Guksu Restaurants for Families in Their 40s

포킴흥의-자랑-분팃느헝

On their third trip to Vietnam, a family in their 40s chose a dish in Ho Chi Minh City instead of pho. We visited a restaurant called Bun Thit Nuong, a spicy noodle dish, and honestly reviewed it. We'll share the flavors and characteristics of Bun Thit Nuong, as well as tips for delicious restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City!

District 7 and Phu My Hung, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is divided into districts, each with its own unique characteristics. The restaurant I'm introducing today is District 7 has a relaxed and modern atmosphere, unlike the bustling District 1, the center of Ho Chi Minh City. That's where it is.

In particular, in the 7th Army Phu My HungThere is a planned new city called , which has a clean and modern appearance and various amenities such as luxury apartment complexes, shopping malls, and international schools.

And this Phu My Hung is home to many Koreans, so there are many Korean restaurants, supermarkets, hospitals, pharmacies, and other places where communication is possible in Korean, making it a convenient place for Korean travelers. This is also true.

Kimheung Rice Noodles

District 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, especially Phu My Hung, is home to a large Korean population, so there are quite a few restaurants that cater to the picky tastes of Koreans.

Kim Hung Pho is a local pho restaurant that satisfies the many demanding criteria, especially for cleanliness and palate, typical of Koreans. It's so famous that even my younger brother, who has lived in Ho Chi Minh City for quite some time, was the first to introduce me to its pho.

The first thing to understand is 🔎[Regional differences in pho styles in Vietnam] Go see the article. This place is a typical example of the southern style of rice noodles. I run this place. Through the YouTube channel <Traveling> You can check out Pokim Heung in the video.

킴흥쌀국수-입구
Kimheung Rice Noodles' exterior is a large local restaurant with quite a few tables.
포킴흥의-내부-모습
The interior is quite spacious and boasts high ceilings. An open kitchen, a rarity in Vietnam.

There are quite a few tables outside, so it's nice to eat outside, but no matter how cool it is, since it's Vietnam in Southeast Asia, I prefer to sit inside whenever possible.

Upon entering the hall, you'll find the high ceilings and cool interior tables, each with a large air conditioner in front, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The open kitchen is particularly welcoming, allowing you to dine with complete confidence.

포킴흥의-내부-모습
At lunchtime, almost all the tables are full.

Because this place is located in Phu My Hung, Ho Chi Minh City's Koreatown, you'll see a lot of Koreans. I visited almost every Sunday, and every time, there were two or three tables occupied by Koreans.

This place is known for its rice noodles, but I prefer the spicy rice noodles called bun thit nuong. So I ordered the spicy rice noodles bun thit nuong, the po jin rice noodles, and tra da (a kind of tea popular among Vietnamese people).

포킴흥에서-제공되는-나물
If you order rice noodles, quite a few things are prepared for you.

When you order food, they bring out the following ingredients for the rice noodles: spicy chili peppers and lime to cut through the meaty smell of the rice noodles, boiled bean sprouts, and cilantro that looks moist and fresh.

You can add vegetables to suit your taste. I like to add three or four hot peppers along with the hosta, as it maintains the spicy and delicious flavor of the soup.

포킴흥의-쌀국수
Kimheung Rice Noodles' Pojin Rice Noodles

Kim Heung Rice Noodles is a delicious combination of clear meat broth, tender beef, and well-cooked rice noodles. The portion is generous, so one meal is enough to satisfy you.

In Korea, most places charge 10,000-15,000 won for a bowl of rice noodles, but here, the noodles cost only 75,000 dong (4,000 won). Yet, you can enjoy a satisfying meal that's incomparable to anything you'd find in Korea.

포킴흥의-자랑-분팃느헝
Kim Heung Rice Noodle Restaurant's pride, Bun Thit Nuong

The real highlight of Pokim Heung!

After trying Bun Tin Nuong while eating rice noodles, I always order this dish whenever I visit. It's difficult to compare rice noodles directly because there are so many famous restaurants. Ho Chi Minh City's Top 3 for Bun Thit Nuong It's clear what's inside.

Pho Kim Hung's rice noodles are actually just a tool to introduce this bun thit nuong. The bun thit nuong I first tried in Ho Chi Minh City is a flavor unlike any other I've experienced. The meat, with its slightly smoky aroma, is so delicious that you'll want to eat it on rice.

There's a dish called "geumseung," which is a dish where the same meat is placed on rice, but I haven't tried it yet. However, I'm confident that nothing can match the charm of this bun tit nuong. The vegetables inside are a perfect combination of cucumber, lettuce, carrots, and peanuts.

And the unidentified sauce lightly sprinkled on the bun ttang nueng makes it even more savory. The price is 95,000 dong.

Honest review, made with my own money

This is the restaurant that comes to mind every time I come to Phu My Hung during my trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

District 7 is home to a wealth of renowned Korean restaurants, but few can rival Kim Heung Pho's Bun Thit Nuong. If you're traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant.

Information about District 9, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Vinhomes Grand Park

호치민-9군의-빈콤메가몰

Traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, VietnamWhen planning your stay and travels, it is very important to plan your stay and travels in Ho Chi Minh City, as each of its large districts has its own unique characteristics. So today, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, especially Vinhomes Grand ParkLet's learn about it.

Characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City area

Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam 24 districts consisting of 19 urban areas and 5 suburban areasIt is divided into districts, most of which are numbered (the districts called District 1 and District 3 serve as the city center), and some other districts have different district names.

So, let's take a closer look at what characteristics District 9 has among the many districts in Ho Chi Minh City and what Vinhomes Grand Park is like there.

호치민-구역지도
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Characteristics of the 9th Army

The 9th Army is the easternmost and largest of the regions divided into military districts as seen on the map, and is located far from the center. The fact that it is the largest and is grouped into one area means that it is still underdeveloped. This may also be the case.

This area used to be a rural area, but recently, with the construction of large apartment complexes, shopping malls, and office buildings, it has attracted the attention of Ho Chi Minh City residents and foreigners.

Vietnam's District 9 is home to a large-scale factory that produces Samsung Electronics smartphones and home appliances, and the company anticipates continued growth by continuously investing in and expanding production.

From a foreigner's perspective, it is a place where you can purchase luxury housing at a relatively low price compared to Districts 1 and 3, and it is a great place for a leisurely rest as there are many large parks and lakes.

Additionally, large shopping malls, hospitals, international schools, and other convenient facilities are continuously increasing.

Vinhomes Grand Park

Vinhomes Grand Park, a large complex located in District 9, has attracted a lot of attention as it is a brand of Vingroup, a very famous company in Vietnam.

This massive apartment complex, which started out as Vinhomes City and has since been renamed Vinhomes Grand Park, is accepting residents, but due to its large size, there are still quite a few units that are unoccupied.

베트남-하노이-빈홈의-모습
A view of Vinhomes Grand Park

Stepping outside the complex surrounded by Vinhomes Grand Park, you'll discover a truly local Vietnamese neighborhood and market. It feels like a completely different world.

Within walking distance of Vinhomes Grand Park is Vincom Megamall, Vietnam's largest shopping center. Because the complex is so large, you can take advantage of a free shuttle bus that travels around the complex.

베트남-빈홈그랜드파크-내-스타벅스
Starbucks inside Vinhomes Grand Park

Each complex has a large swimming pool available for use, and the first floor is clean and conveniently maintained with various convenience stores and amenities open 24 hours a day, as well as Starbucks, GS25, and Lotteria.

Can I get accommodations in the 9th Army?

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is a city with a truly well-developed infrastructure suitable for Koreans. In District 7, Phu My Hung, you can deposit and withdraw money at any Shinhan Bank branch on the street.

Also, because most people can understand Vietnamese or English, and because it is a place where you can see more Korean products than in a Korean convenience store.

So, what about District 9? Having lived in Vinhomes Grand Park in District 9 for two weeks now, I feel like my choice was a good one.

This is because you can walk to the Vincom Megamall shopping center in the evening, and there is infrastructure in place to take care of all your daily needs without having to go far, such as Starbucks and a barber shop.

빈홈의-야경
Vinhomes Grand Park at night with its colorful lights and fountains in operation.

However, for those who enjoy Korean food or frequently do banking in Phu My Hung, the story is a bit different. It's about a 40-minute Grab ride from Koreatown in District 7.

So, when you need to have Korean food delivered or move, you have to pay a taxi fare close to 20,000 won.

So if you need to order food from Koreatown for every meal or go out often, it might be a bit of a struggle, but if you need to organize your thoughts and work in a well-equipped place, this place is heaven.

District 9, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinhomes Grand Park Reviews

I've lived in various neighborhoods during my three visits to Ho Chi Minh City. However, this is my first time in District 9. While I find it appealing for its diverse advantages, convenience, and cleanliness, there are also a number of inconveniences.

However, District 9, which is still developing with new buildings, is also exciting to see how much more development it will undergo in the future. Starting with Eagle, I plan to review more diverse areas of Ho Chi Minh City.

Essential information for traveling by train in Vietnam with your family, as shared by a father in his 40s.

Planning a train trip from Nha Trang, Vietnam, to Hanoi? We'll share with you various information, including how to book tickets online, board the train, and the condition of the four-person sleeper car.

Traveling by train from Nha Trang to Hanoi

Train tickets from Nha Trang, a popular tourist destination for Koreans, to Hanoi in the north are available for reservation.

There are several sites where you can make reservations, the first of which is operated by a Singaporean company. 12GOSecondly, there is one that is directly operated in Vietnam. Railway reservation siteThere is.

👉 Book train tickets with KlookIt is most convenient to dodo.

📅 Nha Trang Hanoi Train Schedule and Prices

In my case, I booked my ticket through a website called 12GO, but later discovered it was operated by a Singaporean company. I had no problems booking my train ticket. We recommend booking directly on the Vietnam Railways reservation website.Do it.

When you reserve a ticket, you will receive a confirmation QR code and a PDF file containing information about the train you will be boarding via email. I will just go over a few things you must check on the ticket.

  • Confirm destination

Make sure to check if the route is Nha Trang ➡ Hanoi

  • Check train number

The "SE12" written behind "Train" is the train number. When you arrive at the train station and find it difficult to find any information about the train, knowing SE12, the arrival number, is essential.

  • Check train arrival time

You should check the arrival time of the train you need to board at the station, and you can check the car and seat number, so it is a good idea to be sure to familiarize yourself with the car, seat, and time.

(In my case, I often don't check my boarding pass until I get off the plane, but I always take a screenshot to confirm my seat!)

베트남-기차여행-기차표-QR코드

How to board the train at Nha Trang Station

This is the Nha Trang train station where I boarded. Since my train was scheduled for 4:26 AM, I took a Grab and arrived at the station around 4 AM.

The outside was brightly lit with flashy lights, but the inside felt like a small neighborhood bus stop I remember visiting when I was young.

베트남-나트랑-기차역-외경

Vietnam trains have recently introduced two-person VIP sleeper cabins, and the price of these cabins can be comparable to, or even more expensive than, a flight from Nha Trang to Hanoi.

Also, because there aren't enough seats, they tend to sell out quickly. The next level up is the four-person VIP sleeper car, and this is the train I rode.

나트랑-침대칸-VIP기차여행-4인실

Vietnam train travel 4-person sleeper compartment condition

It is hot during the day and cold at night or in the early morning. The cleanliness of the restrooms is absolutely not something you can expect, so if you think, "I can't do it without a clean environment or accommodation," choose a flight if possible. It is good to do so.

In particular, the distance from Nha Trang to Hanoi is 1,300 km, which is about three times the distance from Seoul to Busan, so it is a distance that can be reached in less than two hours by plane, but it takes a full day and five hours by train.

The Vietnam train journey takes about 30 hours, and frankly, it is difficult.

베트남-하노이-여행-기차칸-세면대-상태
The condition of the washbasin inside the train that I used morning and evening

The train I rode was SE12, and there was no dining car inside the train, only 4-person and 6-person cars, and no seats in the train car.

Sometimes, at large train stations, I pass another train, and judging by the dining car, it seems that some trains have different dining cars.

베트남-하노이-기차칸-복도통로

When arriving at a large station among the stations that stop at lunchtime, there are cases where the train stops for a long time, such as 10 minutes, as announced. During this time, you can get off the train for a short while and buy a light snack at a store near the station.

So, you must be very curious about how you manage to eat during those 30 hours.

Some people may remember selling steamed eggs or cider by walking between the seats on the Tongil-ho or Mugunghwa-ho trains when they were young. This is similar to the scene.

They also sell simple drinks, small banh mi, and small lunch boxes that look like mi goreng while pushing a cart, so you don't have to worry because you can buy them at a cheap price (most drinks are 20,000 VND, and lunch boxes are 40,000 VND).

The taste is not bad considering the price. It was.

Should I take the Nha Trang ⮕ Hanoi train trip?

If you choose a VIP sleeper car because you have to take a long train ride, the price is definitely not cheaper than that of an airplane.

Also, deciding to travel for over 30 hours and face a not-so-clean and pleasant restroom when you can get there in less than 2 hours by plane is not an easy decision.

However, you can enjoy the real beauty of Vietnam outside the window at any time, as much as you want. If you want to experience a truly offline trip where even 3G doesn't work well in many places, we welcome you with open arms. And I recommend it.

After experiencing these unforgettable 30 hours, I, too, found myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the easy access to Wi-Fi and readily available food and drinks. Isn't this what travel is all about? I wonder.
