Xom Moi Garden | Vietnamese Home Cooking

Among the hundreds, if not thousands, of restaurants in Nha Trang, Summoi Garden is considered one of the best. The atmosphere is the best, the taste is the best, and the friendliness is the best! This is a place where you can't miss out on anything. If there's one drawback... it's that it's a bit pricey. There's a way to fix that, and I'll reveal it below.

1. Indoor atmosphere

The space is truly spacious. True to its name, the entrance area is decorated with plants and resembles a garden. The main hall, or interior, is like a large German beer hall, with tables lined with ample space. My family arrived for dinner, and there were a ton of Koreans enjoying their meal.

I heard that restaurants with a large Korean clientele abroad are known for being clean and delicious. This restaurant was indeed very Korean, with the exception of the staff. It was a very clean restaurant, and the staff were very likely to speak Korean, which made me feel comfortable. It was.

씀모이가든-내부-모습
I heard a lot of Korean, as if I was eating in Korea.

  • Idol: Garlic fried rice 95,000 dong
    • This is a great order if you're with children. It doesn't have a strong garlic flavor, so it's a great accompaniment to other dishes.

  • Right: Braised pork ribs 185,000 dong
    • Pork ribs are simmered in a sweet broth. It comes with an extra bowl of rice, making it quite filling.

  • Bottom left: Garlic Shrimp 195,000 dong
    • There are many restaurants in Vietnam that make garlic shrimp so delicious that I wouldn't recommend it at this price.

Personally One of my family's favorite restaurants, serving Vietnamese home-cooked meals. This restaurant is open. Please note that reservations must be made via Instagram message before visiting.

1. Restaurant interior atmosphere

As you can see from the outside, the restaurant is narrow and tall. Therefore, The first floor is the payment area, and the second to fourth floors are where you can eat.It is a duplex structure, so not many people can sit there.

Although the overall tone is yellow and the back is illuminated, please be aware that the overall feel is dark. While the home-style restaurant Summoi Garden has a bright and cheerful feel, Chao Mao has a dark and atmospheric feel.

2. Menu and Food

Even for a home-cooked meal, Chao Mao is quite pricey. Of course, it's not as expensive as the ones at Summoi Garden. Still, compared to Korea, it's a bit more affordable, so I find myself eating it with a sense of ease.

Of course, there were some delicious dishes at the Summoi Garden, but if you just look at the taste of the food, Chao Mao is my favorite restaurant. The food is very well suited to the Korean palate.

Chaomao's Korean menu

Even though the three of us ate like this, we still wanted to eat more, so we ordered an additional pork banh xeo (95,000 VND).

The most delicious dishes were the garlic shrimp and the banh xeo. My middle school son, who is a very picky eater, especially enjoyed the banh xeo. I think it's a good restaurant to go to with children.

3. Honest review

If I could only eat at one restaurant in Nha Trang, I would choose Chao Mao..

The banh xeo was delicious, and the other dishes were also excellent. Of course, I'm not saying everything was delicious. But of all the restaurants I've visited in Nha Trang, this one is definitely the most satisfying.

🇻🇳Special rice noodles only available in Nha Trang

In Nha Trang, you can taste unique rice noodles that you won't find anywhere else in Vietnam. These include the earthenware pot rice noodles commonly found in Korea, and the squid fish cake rice noodles, a dish exclusive to Nha Trang.

1. Restaurant atmosphere

There are many tables outside so you can eat outside, but as mentioned before, it is a place where you have to eat rice noodles in hot broth served in a boiling stone pot. I recommend going inside if possible.do.

If you don't mind the heat, the outdoor tables are also a good option. The interior is a two-story structure, so hot pots are frequently passed around. Be careful when you are with childrenI urge you to do so.

2. Menu and Food

When you order a pot of rice noodles at Pohan Pook, they first bring you the rice noodles and uncooked beef. Then, they bring you a pot of hot rice noodle broth, and you add the raw meat and rice noodles to cook them.

This rice noodle dish, which comes without the meat and noodles, is fun to eat by adding the meat and noodles together and cooking them, as shown in the photo on the right. While it's not much different from the rice noodles we eat, it has a few unique characteristics.

  • A style of rice noodles that cannot be found anywhere else outside of Nha Trang
  • You can enjoy rice noodles in hot broth for a long time.
  • Boiling raw beef in hot broth creates a rich beef broth flavor.

3. Honest review

During my week in Ho Chi Minh City, I ate so much pho that I could have easily gotten bored, but eating a unique ttukbaegi pho was both novel and fun. Most importantly, it was delicious.

The heat, the essence of rice noodles, and the difference in the texture of the noodles make them even more delicious. If you visit Nha Trang, be sure to stop by and try some unique rice noodles at a local price!

4. Similar restaurants

There's another place nearby where you can try ttukbaegi rice noodles. 📍A place called [Popukrong]This is a place that sells rice noodles in a similar earthenware bowl to Pohanpok.

However, it seems like more Koreans go to Pho Phu Long. The restaurant is much larger, and you can enjoy the rice noodles in a clay pot in an air-conditioned room.

Hai Ca | Special Nha Trang Pho

1. Restaurant atmosphere

The atmosphere of an old restaurant in our country Haika 2 is the second branch of the main branch called 'Bunka Haika'.It's the same place.

I can't say for sure because I haven't been to the main branch, but I've been there myself. According to bloggers, the second branch is neater and cleaner. They said so. So I came straight to the second branch.

하이카2의-메뉴판
A Korean menu written in awkward Korean

As soon as we sat down, they brought us a menu in Korean mixed with English. This place is famous for its unique rice noodles called "Osquid Fish Cake Rice Noodles," so my family and I ordered that dish.

It was almost dinner time when I arrived, but there weren't many people. I went to the restaurant. As soon as I entered, there was a musty smellIt was there. I found out that the smell was coming from the soy sauce container and salted seafood-like seasonings on the table.

2. Food Menu

Because I ordered food Rice noodles with uncooked bean sprouts and thinly sliced lettuceThey brought it. The noodles were thin, like our country's janchi guksu, and inside there was something like fried squid fish cake.

Perhaps to counteract the greasiness of the fried food, the rice noodles were infused with a red seasoning I'd never seen before. The combination of the thick texture of our country's fish cake and the texture of the rice noodles was quite a good match.

하이카에서-주문한-음식들
The basic squid fish cake rice noodles we ordered

3. Honest review

I was surprised by the musty smell, The taste was quite harmonious and the combination of rice noodles and fish cake, which I was trying for the first time, was refreshing. It felt like it was a lot of work. But while I was happily finishing the bowl, my middle school son seemed to be having a hard time.

It's clear that the smell affected the taste of the perfectly good rice noodles, even for someone who's sensitive to smells. However, the flavor was sufficient and enticing enough to make me want to come back for more.

However, I felt like it was a food that was quite divisive. If you have a sensitive palate, you might want to consider it.

🇻🇳 Honest review of my trip to Nha Trang

I've recommended some must-visit restaurants in Nha Trang. Honestly, recommending restaurants is a challenge, as everyone's tastes and priorities are different.

Nevertheless, I've faithfully provided recommendations tailored to our family's tastes. I hope you have a pleasant trip to Nha Trang. Thank you for reading.

Why Traveling to Ho Chi Minh City is Great

There are a lot of Koreans

Within Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City is particularly renowned for its large Korean population. Among them, Phu My Hung in District 7 is particularly known as Koi La Town, a densely populated area with Korean residents.

So, many companies that are familiar to Koreans are also entering the market.

It's a really convenient place for Koreans to travel, with everything from Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours to pharmacies where you can buy Korean medicine and even Korean-brand restaurants.

In particular, if you go to a certain cafe, it is almost always filled with Korean people, so there are times when it feels like you are in Korea.

Rice noodle restaurant

Pho is a favorite among Koreans, with many famous pho restaurants in Korea. If you enjoy Vietnam's signature cuisine, there's a very good chance your trip will be truly relaxing.

In fact, my son loves pho so much that he enjoys trying new pho every day, which I think made his trip to Ho Chi Minh even more enjoyable.

In Vietnam, the style of pho varies slightly from region to region. The pho in Ho Chi Minh City, in southern Vietnam, is characterized by a rich, deep broth and chewy, thick noodles.

I think that Ho Chi Minh's style of rice noodle goes well with Koreans.

Friendly Ho Chi Minh

Vietnamese people are generally very friendly. They are especially friendly toward Koreans, and quite a few of them can speak Korean.

If you visit Ben Thanh Market or Saigon Square, Ho Chi Minh City's shopping centers, you'll find yourself able to communicate comfortably without having to use any special English. While many Vietnamese people don't speak a word of English, there are also quite a few who can, making communication easier than you might expect.

I've tried several travel apps, but Trip.com is the most convenient and easy to use. I'll share my honest review and experience using Trip.com with you, all at my own expense.

1. Convenient alarm

Whether you're an experienced world traveler or not, you might find yourself shopping without even realizing it because of the hectic pace of the airport, or you might forget your boarding time and end up arriving late at the gate.

What if the app informed you four hours before departure, including boarding time, baggage claim location, and boarding gate? I've used other travel apps, but this one is so helpful in informing you of your next destination, boarding time, and baggage location.

게이트 변경, 항공권 발권 등 문자 알리미 서비스
  • Aircraft departure : 4 hours before flight departure, a notification will be sent to ensure customers are not late to the airport.
  • Flight arrival : You will be notified when the aircraft arrives at the airport.
  • Airline ticket issuance completed : When you issue a ticket, you will receive a notification with a reservation number.
  • Arrival baggage claim : When you arrive at your destination airport, we will tell you which number to pick up your baggage at.
  • Boarding gate change : Sometimes the boarding location changes, but you can receive boarding assistance very conveniently because you will be notified when the boarding gate changes.

2. Coin cash discount

When you travel, you often end up booking flights, staying at hotels, and writing reviews about the hotels. At Trip.com, all of this is earned in Trip Coins. It will work.

There are also coins earned through occasional Member's Day events. These coins can be redeemed for cash and used to purchase airline tickets or stay at hotels.

  • When coins are accumulated

3. Benefits by level

The more you travel, the higher your Trip.com status will continue to rise, and the higher your status, the more benefits you will receive. Even if you make just one reservation, you will receive 6 rewards. When you reach Gold level and Diamond+ level, you will be given 12 rewards. It will work.

Trip.com Honest Reviews, Made with My Own Money

While I was traveling the world, the most convenient feature was Trip.com's travel alerts. Trip.com's alerts, which alerted me whenever my flight or boarding gate changed at an unfamiliar foreign airport, were incredibly helpful.

We recommend using Trip.com, which not only allows you to travel but also offers discounts using TripCoins.

Ho Chi Minh City Travel Essentials: Saigon Square vs. Ben Thanh Market (feat. Tips)

호치민-벤탄시장-내부

Ho Chi Minh City has a must-see destination for travelers: Saigon Square and Ben Thanh Market. These places are steeped in the history and culture of Ho Chi Minh City's residents. Here are some must-know tips for both shopping malls.I tried it.

1. Travel to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The capital of Vietnam is Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City is the economic center and largest city in Vietnam. It was formerly called Saigon, and is a city where the present and the past coexist, and is loved by many travelers.

  • Ho Chi Minh City's characteristics
    • economic center
      • Ho Chi Minh City is divided into 9 districts, each with its own characteristics.Districts 1 and 3 are the most developed centers of Ho Chi Minh City, and other areas are also experiencing rapid economic growth with the construction of high-rise buildings and large-scale apartment complexes.
    • Phu My Hung, the city of Koreans
      • In particular, District 7 is an international area representing Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and is especially famous for being home to a large Korean population.
      • Centered around the new city of Phu My Hung, it is well-equipped with luxury apartment complexes, commercial facilities, and international schools.

Before reading this article, it will be helpful to watch the video below.

2. Saigon Square vs. Ben Thanh Market

In Ho Chi Minh City Two representative shopping destinationsThere is Saigon Square, a modern facility, and Ben Thanh Market, a traditional market that preserves the history and traditions of the people.

From now on, I will compare and review the two places.

호치민-사이공스퀘어-입구
The stylish entrance to Saigon Square is impressive.

Saigon Square

Saigon Square is a representative shopping destination in Ho Chi Minh City.It is known as a counterfeit market, especially for selling luxury goods and branded goods at low prices, so many tourists visiting Ho Chi Minh City visit this place.

In a hot country like Ho Chi Minh City, air conditioning is crucial. This place has the advantage of having air conditioning inside, making shopping relatively cool.

  • Features and Precautions
    • forced shoe shine
      • There is always a shoe shiner at the entrance of Saigon Square. Even if you refuse, he will already be shining your shoes, or he may even force you to shine your shoes even if you are wearing slippers or flip-flops in order to extort money.
      • Please firmly decline (or we will keep trying).
    • Cash only
      • All stores in Saigon Square only accept cash, so it's a good idea to prepare some cash in advance.
      • On the first floor of Saigon Square, on the far right, you will see a currency exchange office.(If you purchase over a certain amount, you can use a card.)
    • Purchase of the 2nd floor
      • Saigon Square consists of the first and second floors.
      • In general, the first floor is more ornately decorated, and the deeper you go inside and up to the second floor, the fewer people there are.
      • If you search thoroughly up to the second floor, you can buy the same product at a cheaper price.
    • No Nike Air purchases
      • According to a Korean who lived in Vietnam and was a regular customer of a shoe store, if you are going to buy Nike shoes at Saigon Square, you should not buy shoes with air in them because shoes with air in them will burst quickly.
      • Even for the same product, the price may vary depending on the quality, so check the quality!
    • Beware of pickpockets
      • According to my younger brother who has lived in Ho Chi Minh City for a long time, Pickpocketing incidents occur occasionally. They say it happens. Most people go to shopping malls with cash in hand, so please be careful.

Ben Thanh Market

Ben Thanh Market is more than just a market in Ho Chi Minh City; it is a place that embodies the culture and history of Ho Chi Minh City. It has been located here since 1985. Ben Thanh Market is a symbolic market that showcases the life and culture of Ho Chi Minh City citizens.no see.

However, since there's no air conditioning inside, only a fan, it's quite hot for leisurely shopping. I think this factor also had a big impact.

호치민-벤탄시장-내부
There is fun in walking through the densely packed maze-like paths.
  • Features and Precautions
    • No air conditioning
      • Vietnam is famous for its extreme heat, but Ben Thanh Market has no air conditioning. While each store has a fan, shopping can be quite challenging for those who are sensitive to the heat.
    • narrow passage
      • Ben Thanh Market is very large. However, because so many shops are packed together, the passageways are so narrow that it feels like a maze. This can make it hot and uncomfortable for some people.
    • Price quotation system
      • The stalls along the side of Ben Thanh Market are marked with "FIXED PRICE" signs. A characteristic of Vietnamese markets, bargaining is prohibited and prices are fixed by posted price tags. Therefore, those who find bargaining difficult can shop more comfortably here.

If it's your first time in Ho Chi Minh City, where should you go?

If you're a first-time visitor to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and have time to visit just one place, I'd recommend Saigon Square. Shopping and exploring a vast area can be exhausting, but the heat can make it even more tiring.

Based on my own experience, I can't say that Ben Thanh Market is cheaper than the surrounding area. It depends on how much you bargain. If you're going to do it, go for it. I recommend Saigon Square, where you can comfortably view the same items in a pleasant environment.do.

Ho Chi Minh City's Ben Thanh Market vs. Nha Trang's Dam Market

If there is Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City, southern Vietnam, there is Dam Market in Nha Trang. Dam Market is a famous must-visit destination in Nha Trang and is loved by many travelers, especially Koreans.no see.

Nha Trang's Dam Market is closer to Ben Thanh Market than to Saigon Square in Ho Chi Minh City, and is a traditional market that preserves the lives of Nha Trang people who have preserved their old traditions and culture.

담시장-입구-가판대
At the entrance to Damsi Market, various handicrafts and the best-selling one-piece dress are on display.

Compared to Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City, prices are much lower, the market is larger, and the selection of products feels much more diverse. It's known for its popular items like one-piece dresses, sportswear, souvenirs, and mango jelly.

Tistory's Year-End Report: 34 Questions for 2024, Blogging & Life

쫄보들의-세계여행기

I found it while looking for writing material Tistory's '34 Questions'’ We're releasing the list. My 2024Looking back ‘'If you were to compliment me this year?'’ Let me answer the question. You too 34 questionsThrough Writing for myselfStart with Year-end settlementTry it!

If you were to compliment me this year?

There were a variety of topics, but perhaps it's because I'm so strongly feeling that this year has been one where I've had nothing to grasp, nothing to see, and nothing to accomplish? The topic that caught my eye the most was, "How would you compliment yourself this year?".

To better compliment myself, I would first look back and ask myself, 'What did I do this year?'.

January-February

I am The job of a PD who produces programsI lived like that. I think I worked in everything from educational programs to variety shows and audition programs. That was until the company took a huge hit.

When the company took a hit and I left, I worked part-time until early this year, making documentaries. Normally, I'd only take on one, but I was busy taking on two at once. Meeting so many new people, interviewing them, and traveling all over the place, I felt like I hadn't felt this happy in a long time.

I ended up earning quite a bit of money that I had been spending for a while.

March-April

I've been talking about this trip with my family for years, so I've started clearing out everything in my house to prepare for it. Why are there so many things in every nook and cranny of the house?, There were many things to throw away and many things to sell.

Until the beginning of this year, my feelings hadn't changed much, but as I started organizing my belongings one by one, I began to feel like I was finally leaving, and at times, I felt anxious and worried. However, even greater than those feelings was excitement.

It was a time to bond more closely with my family, and I was also able to talk more with my wife about things I hadn't been able to talk about before.

세계여행을-위해-집정리중인-우리집
My house being packed (it's not my house anymore)

May-December

We departed from Incheon International Airport on May 9th. Over the course of seven months until December, I traveled to a total of six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle, etc.) and visited 18 cities.Did.

During those seven months, I fought a lot, almost had to return home after a long hiatus, lost my bag containing my camera gear, got locked out of my room with my keys, and even nearly fainted from a palm-sized cockroach.

But, despite all that, I'm back in Korea now. It's for my son, who chose to take the GED exam for his travels. I knew studying while traveling wouldn't be easy, but seeing it from up close, I realized it was much harder than I expected.

It's not easy to graduate in just 10 months from a degree that other friends study for three years. We've sold our house and are currently living with my mother-in-law, but we plan to move abroad again once my son finishes his exams.

A market open only on weekends in front of Waikiki Beach, Hawaii is a place where every day is a festival.

So what are you going to praise?

My family is a bunch of cowards.

  • Coward 1 (Dad)
    • I have a fear of English, so I'm extremely reluctant to talk to blonde-haired foreigners. This is a fatal flaw when traveling the world.

  • Coward 2 (Mom)
    • I have a fear of insects and heights. I nearly fainted after seeing a palm-sized cockroach in my Malaysian hotel, and I've nearly fainted several times while climbing the 272 steps of the Batu Caves.

  • Coward 3 (son)
    • They are so scared of flies and even the smallest bugs that they can't touch them. They are sensitive to sound, and even the slightest loud noise can cause them to panic or become frightened. They also spit out food if it doesn't suit their taste.

On a world tour where you never know what's going to happen, the fears of the cowards grow. Despite this, they traveled for seven months without any major issues and remained healthy. I believe this was largely due to Coward 1's role in keeping them safe and sound. Kudos!
