If a beneficiary eligible for maternity benefits gives birth or is expecting to give birth, 700,000 won per person will be paid. If twins are born, 1.4 million won will be paid.
How to apply for severance pay
- Those eligible for welfare can submit an application for childbirth benefits to the mayor of the city, county, or district office.
- A birth certificate can be replaced with a birth registration.
- Expectant mothers can apply starting from 4 weeks before the expected date of birth and must provide a doctor's opinion, doctor's diagnosis, or maternal handbook to confirm the facts.
- In case of stillbirth, you can apply by attaching a certificate of confirmation from a doctor, oriental medicine doctor, or midwife.
- You can apply from anywhere in the country, even outside your residential jurisdiction.
